Frequently asked questions.

Can these treatments treat pain?

It is common that when we treat imbalances within the body, our pain decreases. However, we have to be careful in not assuming your pain is due to these imbalances. If you are in pain the first step is to talk to your doctor or PT to rule out any injuries. Once you have the all clear for massage and/or exercise we can work towards getting you feeling your best.

How long does it take for Functional Alignment (FA) sessions to work?

This depends on the client’s commitment to the program. You will typically see and feel a difference in your first session but keeping and growing that result takes work. I ask my clients to commit to their new program 3-5 times a week to work on the exercises we cover in their session. With strong consistency you will typically begin to see a shift in your body between 4-6 weeks. I recommend at least 2-3 FA sessions during this time.

What’s the difference between FA and physical therapy?

In a FA session we are working to bring balance, release and strength to your body. A wonderful side effect of this can be decreased pain. I will never diagnose or treat injury in these sessions and that is the biggest difference. I am always happy to refer you to one of the areas wonderful PTs if that is what you’re in need of.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, I do not. I can accept HSA cards and if you have a prescription for massage I can give you the proper invoice for reimbursement from your insurance.
